Now that we know the results of the Mueller report, we can say without a shadow of a doubt that President Donald Trump is innocent. The report put out by Attorney General William Barr describes the findings of special counsel Robert Mueller in a simple and concise way. There was no collusion found between the Trump campaign and the Russian government during the 2016 election cycle.
The core findings of the Mueller report are as follows:
“The Special Counsel found no evidence that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired with the Russians to influence the election, despite offers by the Russians to do so," says Mr. Barr.
The Democrats have been running on a message of Russian collusion for the better part of two years now. They have gone on television every single day to say that President Trump cheated Hillary Clinton out of the Presidency in 2016 and that he is working hand-in-hand with Russian President Vladimir Putin to destroy our great American democracy. Every single talking head in the liberal media has been pushing the Russian collusion narrative for two years, and have gotten support from almost every single high-profile Democratic politician in America.
The findings within the Mueller report are a complete and total repudiation of the mainstream media in this country. They are the ones who have been abdicating their duty to facts and truth for years now. They betrayed the American people because they were blinded by their primal hatred for President Trump and for the Republican party as a whole. The mainstream media has lost all credibility when it comes to reporting the facts with openness and honesty. Ever since President Trump was elected, the media has been acting as the propaganda arm of the Democratic party establishment. The fact that the media elites in this country are upset that the leader of the free world is not working to undermine democracy with the Russian government is truly disgusting.
Some members of the media are trying to spin the Mueller report into a discussion of whether or not President Trump ever obstructed justice during the Mueller investigation. Mr. Barr states in the letter that while the “report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him,” and Mr. Barr explains that it is now the job of the Department of Justice and Congress to determine whether or not there was any further wrongdoing by the President. Mr. Barr also states that the Department of Justice believes that there was no attempt to obstruct justice by President Trump. This is not just Mr. Barr saying this either, it is also Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a man who President Trump has gone after repeatedly over the last few years. I highly doubt Mr. Rosenstein would be declaring President Trump innocent if there was any real reason to think otherwise.
Brian Stelter of CNN recently argued: “Reporting is what adds the most value. Finding out something new, putting out new information into the world is the best feeling in journalism. It is the greatest value add. Hundreds of journalists have been trying to solve pieces of this Trump-Russia puzzle,” he continues, “But here's the thing -- Speculation actually has value too. It helps open our eyes and our minds to what's possible.”
This statement is absolutely laughable to make coming from a man who works for an organization that has widely speculated about collusion and obstruction of justice for years now with absolutely no facts to back up their claims. The media has turned themselves into a joke, they should apologize to the American people for this long, national nightmare that they themselves helped foster. It is the job of the press to hold our elected officials accountable to the American people. There is nobody in America, however, whose job it is to hold the press accountable. The Mueller report has inadvertently done this for us. Unless you are overtly partisan, this is a moment which shows us that the American mainstream media has a heavy bias towards the left and will stop at nothing to push left-leaning policies and narratives, even if they do not reflect what the truth actually is.
Congressional Democrats are obviously going to try and keep these investigations rolling into the 2020 election. This has been the central argument to voters for two years now - that President Trump was never truly elected President, and we must correct this injustice either through impeachment or in 2020. Now that the Mueller report is out, they have lost their core argument for why the American people should oust President Trump in 2020. The Mueller report found that no American citizen worked with the Russian government to get President Trump elected. This is going to fundamentally change the American political landscape in ways that only benefit Republicans, and only help President Trump’s chances of being re-elected in 2020.
This is an absolutely massive political win for President Trump. This issue has been ripped from the hands of Democratic candidates running for the Presidency in 2020 and is now going to force them to pivot to actually discussing the issues voters actually care about. That is a bad sign for Democrats, especially during a time in which the American economy is doing incredibly well (which obviously benefits the sitting President). This is also going to become a central piece of the President’s re-election efforts. He is going to be lambasting the media and the Democrats for pushing what he feels has been a “false narrative” of collusion for years. He will finally be able to make that argument without having to worry about the Mueller investigation looming overhead.
Obviously, everyone should go read Mr. Barr’s letter summarizing the Mueller report for themselves. If you do so, you will find that the media have been smearing the President for years now and that if they continue to push either narrative, collusion or obstruction, they are trying to deceive you. The Mueller report perfectly lays out the innocence of President Trump while also laying out the now obvious guilt of the mainstream media. Impeachment of President Trump is not the solution to this problem, impeachment of the American mainstream media is the true solution.
